YUNGBLUD takes aim at “Parents” on new single

“‘Cause parents ain’t always right,” he affirms.

YUNGBLUD is back with “Parents,” his third single of 2019.

On the song, the British singer contrasts jaunty production, which features bouncy percussion and lively vocal delivery, with dark lyrical content. “My daddy put a gun to my head / Said, ‘if you kiss a boy, I’m gonna shoot you dead’ / So I tied him up with gaffer tape and locked him in a shed / Then I went out to the garden and I fucked my best friend,” he sings.

“‘Parents’ is a tribute to individualism,” YUNGBLUD said in a press release. “You are the best judge of how to become the best you. Don’t conform to the outside world’s perception of who you should be if it means losing yourself in the process.”
