YUNGBLUD releases new EP, ‘The Underrated Youth’

British musician YUNGBLUD—real name Dominic Harrison—has released a new EP, The Underrated Youth.

The six-track release is a concentrated dose of Harrison’s blend of rock, emo, hip hop and pop. Harrison kicks things off with “Braindead!”, a taste of noughties British indie rock, and continues to swagger on the single “Parents.” “Original Me”—a collab with Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons—presents both musicians at their angstiest, though Harrison opts to end on a gentler note with “Waiting on the Weekend.”

“This EP is about all the people I’ve met and the stories I’ve heard in the past couple of years,” Harrison explained in a statement. “My fans are constantly telling me about the incredible things they’ve gone through, like coming out to their parents or transitioning to another gender. With every day, every gig, every DM, it’s become less and less about me and more about this whole collective of people coming together to fight for what we believe in.”

Harrison released 21st Century Liability, his debut album as YUNGBLUD, last July. He recently worked with Machine Gun Kelly on “I Think I’m Okay,” and Halsey on “11 Minutes.” Both tracks also featured Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.
