Wavves share early demo track, “All Star Goth”

To celebrate their self-titled debut’s tenth anniversary, the indie rock band are reissuing the LP with a bonus, never-before-heard demo.

Here’s something that’ll make you feel that much older: Wavves’ self-titled debut album will turn ten in September. Yep, that Cali-cool, lo-fi beach pop band broke onto the scene way back in 2008, and to celebrate the anniversary, they’ve reissued the record on vinyl with a previously unreleased demo track, “All Star Goth.”

As you’d expect from the West Coast outfit, the tune is raw and raucous, with fuzzy guitars, reverb-drenched vocals and Phil Spector-esque drums coalescing into one cacophonous wall of sound. Frankly, it sounds a little dated in 2018, but if you dug the laid-back, stoner vibe of Wavves, you’ll love this.

“All Star Goth” features on the colored vinyl reissue of Wavves, out now.
