Watch Soccer Mommy’s hazy video for “Circle the Drain”

Featuring pro-skateboarders Sean Malto, Nicole Hause and more.

Soccer Mommy—aka Sophie Allison—has released a music video for her new single “Circle the Drain.”

The singer encapsulates ’90s aesthetics in the dreamy clip, which was shot in Palm Springs. The visual follows pro-skateboarders Sean Malto, Jake Anderson, Curren Caples and Nicole Hause as they explore an abandoned theme park. Allison later links up with the skateboarders at a giant slide, and they teach her how to handle a board.

“Circle the Drain” is the latest taste of Allison’s forthcoming album, Color Theory. The record, which arrives February 28 via Loma Vista Records, will also feature the songs “Lucy” and “Yellow is the Color of Her Eyes.”

“I wanted the experience of listening to Color Theory to feel like finding a dusty old cassette tape that has become messed up over time, because that’s what this album is: an expression of all the things that have slowly degraded me personally,” Allison explained in a press release. “The production warps, the guitar solos occasionally glitch, the melodies can be poppy and deceptively cheerful. To me, it sounds like the music of my childhood distressed and, in some instances, decaying.”
