Watch Japanese Breakfast perform “Be Sweet” on ‘Fallon’

Michelle Zauner and her band also came full circle by playing “Jimmy Fallon Big!.”

Japanese Breakfast recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform two songs: latest single “Be Sweet” and older cut “Jimmy Fallon Big!.”

Michelle Zauner and her band played both songs from Brooklyn venue National Sawdust. The cameraman shot the performance of “Be Sweet” in one take, following Zauner from the stage through a stairwell and to a bar, manned by an alien bartender.

Fallon himself gave a brief introduction explaining the song “Jimmy Fallon Big!,” which appeared on the 2017 album Soft Sounds From Another Planet. The song’s title was inspired by the time a member of Zauner’s previous band Little Big League left for another group, telling Zauner that his new outfit would become “Jimmy Fallon big.” Funnily enough, he returned to play bass in Japanese Breakfast.
