Watch Foo Fighters team up with Krist Novoselic on “Molly’s Lips” cover

It smells like Nirvana all over again.

Over the weekend, former Nirvana bandmates Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic reunited to cover the Vaselines’ “Molly’s Lips” at a Foo Fighters gig in Seattle, Washington.

In their time playing together as Nirvana, they reportedly performed the track live over 50 times, and even ended up doing their own version of it in their 1992 outtakes compilation, Incesticide.

Since the glory days, however, Grohl and Novoselic have only played “Molly’s Lips” one other time together, at a 2015 concert in Scotland—home of the Vaselines.

“This is an old song, we haven’t done this song together in a long time,” Grohl announced to the crowd, after inviting Novoselic—whose new band Giants in the Trees had opened for Foo Fighters earlier that evening—onstage. He then wasted no time and ripped right into the fuzzy opening riff. The performance was rambunctious and recalled the rockers at the height of their grunge powers.
