Bea Kristi’s debut studio album is out next month.

Beabadoobee has shared “How Was Your Day?,” a new cut from her forthcoming debut studio album Fake it Flowers.

The musician’s new single channels the earlier lo-fi, acoustic sound of her formative releases. Bea Kristi’s breathy vocals paint a picture of isolation on the road, where she misses the conversations, fights and moments with her loved ones.

“‘How Was Your Day?’ is a track that explores all the relationships I neglected when I was away from home,” the singer explained in a statement. “I wanted to emphasize the rawness of the lyrics with the song sonically which is why I recorded it on a four-track with all the little mistakes and vocal wobbles included. I wanted the music video to feel nostalgic to me, to include all the people I cared about, it took me back to the time I first started making music.”

The song was accompanied by a grainy analog music video capturing Beabadoobee taking solitary moments amongst nature and on the road. It was directed by her frequent visual collaborators bedroom, who have worked with her on all of the videos for Fake it Flowers—namely, “Worth it,” “Sorry” and “Care”—along with early singles such as “Dance with Me” and “If You Want To.”

Fake it Flowers will arrive on October 16. Watch the video for “How Was Your Day?” below:
