Watch Arlo Parks perform “Hurt” on ‘Kimmel’

From her freshly released debut album ‘Collapsed in Sunbeams.’

Arlo Parks dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform her track “Hurt” following the release of her debut album Collapsed in Sunbeams on Friday.

The performance finds the singer accompanied by her band in a dimly-lit studio adorned with suspended lamp shades and books. “Oh wouldn’t it be lovely to feel somethin’ for once?” she sang. “Yeah, wouldn’t it be lovely to feel worth somethin’, huh? / I know you can’t let go / Of anything at the moment / Just know it won’t hurt so / Won’t hurt so much forever.”

““Hurt’ surrounds the possibility of healing from pain and the temporary nature of suffering,” Parks said of the song in a previous statement. “It is supposed to uplift and comfort those going through hard times.”

Collapsed in Sunbeams is the London artist’s highly anticipated debut album. It includes songs like “Caroline,” “Green Eyes’” and Parks’ breakout single “Black Dog.”

In 2020, Parks teamed up with Phoebe Bridgers on BBC’s Radio One to perform a cover of Radiohead’s “Fake Plastic Trees” and a rendition of the latter’s track “Kyoto.”
