Vampire Weekend drop two more tracks from ‘Father of the Bride’

The final double-release before the album arrives.

Vampire Weekend have released “This Life” and “Unbearably White,” the final double-drop before their long-anticipated comeback album, Father of the Bride, arrives.

“This Life” is a bright, chill tune that features backing vocals from Danielle Haim. Jake Longstreth, frontman Ezra Koenig’s co-host on radio show Time Crisis, lends a hand and plays guitar on the track. The song also interpolates lyrics from iLoveMakonnen’s “Tonight”: “You’ve been cheating on, cheating on me / So I’ve been cheating on, cheating on you.”

“Unbearably White,” which features additional production from BloodPop, continues the mellow vibe of the first track. The song layers Koenig’s laid-back vocal performance over electric guitars and pared-back percussion.

The band’s new tracks follow the double-releases of “Big Blue” and “Sunflower” last month, and “Harmony Hall” and “2021” in January. The 18-track Father of the Bride will arrive May 3. Stream their new songs below.
