Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots performs on BBC Radio 1

It was just the singer and his piano for this Live Lounge session.

Artists really pull out the stops at the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge. Case in point: these performances by Twenty One Pilots’ vocalist, Tyler Joseph.

At Newport Music Hall in the band’s hometown of Columbus, Ohio, Joseph took to the piano to perform “My Blood” and “Neon Gravestones” from their new album Trench, their 2015 hit “Ride,” and finally Damien Rice’s “9 Crimes.”

The duo are known for their electrifying live performances, but Joseph’s stripped-down piano renditions—sans drummer Josh Dun—exude an energy all their own. Watch his performances below.
