Jack White’s band The Raconteurs have released “Bored and Razed,” the opening track from their forthcoming album, Help Us Stranger.

A martial snare beat and white-hot guitars drive “Bored and Razed,” which buzzes with palpable energy—and that’s all thanks to its roots as an instrumental jam.

“I think that that first track, ‘Bored and Razed,’ is very cool, because it was a[n] instrumental for a while. We sort of jammed it out,” guitarist Brendan Benson explained to Zane Lowe of Beats 1. “… It was almost like, two or three songs combined, and each of our songwriting personalities is in there, as well as the whole band.”

The Raconteurs’ third LP Help Us Stranger, which will also feature their cover of “Hey Gyp (Dig the Slowness),” is locked in for a June 21 release via White’s label Third Man Records.
