The Lemon Twigs return with video for “The One”

Their new album, ‘Songs for the General Public,’ is on the way.

The Lemon Twigs have returned with a video for “The One,” the first single from their upcoming album, Songs for the General Public.

In the entertaining, free-spirited visual, the D’Addario brothers hit the campaign trail for a mysterious entity called “The One.” It’s a light-hearted take on election races in America, paired with an infectious tune about romantic restlessness. “You move onto another person / No one can give you what you want / You love someone when their heart is hurting / But they can never be the one,” the chorus goes.

“The One” is one of 12 songs on Songs for the General Public, which is due out May 1 via 4AD. The D’Addarios wrote, recorded and produced the LP in studios in Long Island, Los Angeles and New York City. Songs for the General Public comes two years after their sophomore album, Go to School.
