The Killers unveil new song, “Fire in Bone”

They also previewed another cut, “Dying Breed,” in a livestream.

The Killers have released “Fire in Bone,” another new track from their upcoming LP Imploding the Mirage.

The band also recently previewed other cuts from the new album, which has been postponed from its original May 29 release date due to the coronavirus pandemic. During an Instagram livestream, Killers members Brandon Flowers and Ronnie Vannucci Jr played the anthemic “Dying Breed” and teased 30 seconds of “My Own Soul’s Warning.”

In an interview with NME, Flowers described the writing and recording process of Imploding the Mirage as “tapping into the universe.”

“That’s my take on the unicorn entering the room or lightning striking,” Flowers elaborated. “I’ve been lucky enough to have that experience a lot in my life. I’m grateful and I’m thankful for it, but it reminded me of the first album, when those moments happened a lot. It winks at you and you’re hooked. You just want to chase it.”

The new tracks follow Imploding the Mirage’s lead single “Caution,” featuring ex-Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham. A new release date for the record has yet to be announced.
