Terry Crews stars in Brittany Howard’s video for “Stay High”

A heartwarming clip.

Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes has enlisted Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor Terry Crews for the charming video for her new solo single, “Stay High.”

Crews sings along to Howard’s song as he goes from work at the factory to the supermarket and diner, before finally going home to his family. The wholesome video was shot in Howard’s hometown of Athens, Alabama. The artist and her father—whom the MV is dedicated to—make cameos, and Howard’s family and friends also act in the visual.

“Terry Crews plays a man who isn’t out to change the world,” Howard explained in a press release. “He plays a man who just wants to come home to those who understand and love him best. We see his inner beauty, grace and humanity in a place that is so often misunderstood.”

“Stay High” previews Howard’s solo debut LP Jaime, named after her late sister who passed away from cancer as a teenager. Jaime, which also includes the single “History Repeats,” is set for release on September 20 via ATO Records.
