Tame Impala get “Lost in Yesterday” on new song

‘The Slow Rush’ is almost here.

Tame Impala are back with “Lost in Yesterday,” the latest taste of their forthcoming album, The Slow Rush.

The addictive, disco-inspired track is “an examination of time’s distorting effect on memories,” frontman Kevin Parker said in a press statement. “Even the most disdainful times can take on a rosy tinge the further they recede in the rearview.”

“And you’re gonna have to let it go someday / You’ve been pickin’ it up like Groundhog Day / ’Cause it might’ve been somethin’, don’t say / ’Cause it has to be lost in yesterday,” Parker sings on the chorus.

Besides “Lost in Yesterday,” Tame Impala’s The Slow Rush will also feature the songs “Posthumous Forgiveness,” “It Might Be Time” and “Borderline.” The record is due out February 14.
