Strange Ranger announce new album with “Leona”

The first taste of ‘Remembering the Rockets.’

Portland outfit Strange Ranger have released “Leona,” the lead single of their forthcoming album, Remembering the Rockets.

In a statement, bassist Fred Nixon summed up the new album’s creative direction: “We wanted the feel of the next record to put you in a trance.” And true enough, “Leona” is a song you can sway to, complete with shimmering guitars and sparkling synths.

Remembering the Rockets is Strange Ranger’s third release in as many years: Their previous album Daymoon dropped in 2017, and they released the EP How it All Went By last year. The new record arrives July 26 on Tiny Engines.
