It’s been close to two decades since the original Smashing Pumpkins line-up released any music. And after breaking the news earlier this year about their reunion, we finally have it: The OG Pumpkins’ new track.
“Solara” sees founding members Bill Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin getting together for a second wind. However, bassist D’Arcy Wretzky is nowhere to be found—she’s claimed to have been misinformed about the group’s reunion.
“Solara,” produced by Rick Rubin and featuring longtime guitarist Jeff Schroeder, is a rumbling rock tune that’s brimming with crunching guitars and explosive drums. “Tear down the sun / Bring down the sun / I’m not everyone,” frontman Corgan sings on the hook.
