Sebadoh poke fun at conspiracy theorists in “Raging River”

A new oddball video from the lo-fi indie rockers.

Sebadoh have dropped “Raging River,” a third song from their anticipated ninth album, Act Surprised, due out May 24.

The song, which pokes fun at conspiracy theorists with “their tinfoil hats on,” arrived with a light-hearted video that’s fittingly low-budget, mirroring the lo-fi sound the band helped pioneer in the early ’90s.

It stars Dinosaur Jr bassist and Sebadoh co-founder Jason Loewenstein, who hunkers down to build a range of bizarre electronics resplendent with flashing lights and chrome shine. He also records himself singing on the street, and riffs on the track in front of a green screen, engaging a mysterious pedal simply labeled “RAGE” to kick the chorus into action.
