Santana releases “Los Invisibles” from new album, ‘Africa Speaks’

It features Afro-Latin singer Buika and was produced by Rick Rubin.

Guitarist Carlos Santana has released “Los Invisibles,” a single from his forthcoming Rick Rubin-produced album, Africa Speaks.

The song features guest vocalist Buika, and Santana’s eight-piece band, which includes his wife Cindy Blackman Santana on drums. It opens with an Afrobeat drum melody which leads into a searing guitar line and Buika’s distinctive vocals.

Africa Speaks was, as its title implies, entirely inspired by African music, and was recorded over a ten-day session at Rubin’s Shangri La Studios in Malibu, California. They turned out a whopping 49 songs in that time, Santana told Rolling Stone in January. “[Rubin] was very gracious, because it was like a hurricane to record six, seven songs in a day.”
