Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien remixes Paul McCartney’s “Slidin’”

Another cut from ‘McCartney III Imagined.’

Paul McCartney has released Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien’s remix of “Slidin’,” a track from Macca’s quarantine album McCartney III.

O’Brien, who records solo material under the moniker EOB, takes its cues from the dirty rock vibe of the original—speeding it up slightly and lathering on more distorted guitar. “I was in the studio with Paul Epworth when the track came through,” O’Brien recalled on Twitter. “‘Helter Skelter’ felt like a good reference point… Ramp up the intensity and add a dose of chaos.”

This EOB remix will appear on McCartney III Imagined, which collects remixes of McCartney III by a list of musicians curated by the Beatle himself. So far, the remixes by Beck (“Find My Way”) and Dominic Fike (“The Kiss of Venus”) have been released.

McCartney III Imagined will be released April 16. Hear O’Brien’s remix of “Slidin’” below:
