Psychedelic Porn Crumpets return with “Mr Prism”

The Aussie garage rock favorites’ first single for 2020.

Australian garage psych band Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have returned with their first single of the year, “Mr Prism.”

According to a press release, “Mr Prism” was written after vocalist Jack McEwan suffered from pneumonia after a hectic tour schedule. “After our last tour of Europe I had a plethora of reasons to see a doctor. First, he thought I had tonsillitis, so prescribed me penicillin, which didn’t help at all … Turns out I had pneumonia,” McEwan explained. “[Later] Mr. Prism (my sickly fun-fuelled fiend of an alter ego) was born.”

The song serves as a follow-up to the band’s 2019 album, And Now for the Whatchamacallit. The band were scheduled to tour the album in May and June this year but have postponed their shows to 2021. They will hit the road in February, supporting fellow Aussies Ocean Alley on their national trek.
