POND get weird in “Sixteen Days” video

It’s a new song from the Aussie psych rockers.

Just last year, POND released their most recent album, The Weather, but they’ve already got new music locked and loaded. Late last week, they dropped a new song, “Sixteen Days.”

This poppier cut is less of an earful than “Burnt Out Star,” the eight-minute jam they dropped in July. Both feature production by Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, who was also formerly a member of POND.

“Sixteen Days” has also received a bizarre video treatment. Directed by Kristofski (who’s also shot videos for Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Kirin J Callinan and The Jezabels), it finds POND performing their song live in a television studio. That’s not that weird in itself—but throw in a zany, shirtless frontman and several greased-up weightlifters moonlighting as cameramen, and you’ve got something truly special.
