Phoebe Bridgers returns with first single in three years, “Garden Song”

Plus a video with a cameo by comedian Tig Notaro.

Phoebe Bridgers is finally back: The singer-songwriter has released “Garden Song,” her first new solo song in three years.

For the track’s accompanying video, Bridgers asked her brother, Jackson, to film her as she smoked a bong and “surprise” her while under the influence. Among the surprises are dancing furry monsters, comedian Tig Notaro dressed as a monk and a male stripper.

Bridgers’ last solo release, Stranger in the Alps, arrived in 2017. In between the album and “Garden Song,” the singer co-founded the indie rock outfit boygenius with Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus. She also teamed up with Bright Eyes’ Conor Oberst to form Better Oblivion Community Center, who dropped their eponymous debut album last year.
