Pearl Jam have shared new single “Get it Back,” their first to follow their album Gigaton, which arrived in March.
The grunge band’s fresh track was originally released as part of the recent compilation Good Music to Avert the Collapse of American Democracy Volume 2. The 77-track compilation was available via Bandcamp for 24 hours only during the October edition of their Bandcamp Fridays initiative. During the monthly event, the music platform waives its fees for all sales on the first Friday of each month in an attempt to channel more money to artists affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The sales of Volume 2 supported the Voting Rights Lab campaign hub in their fight for freedom and accessible voting. Aside from Pearl Jam, other artists who contributed previously unreleased material included Arcade Fire, David Byrne, Bright Eyes, The War on Drugs, Perfume Genius, The Postal Service and Fleet Foxes.
Pearl Jam have recently announced the upcoming stream of their 2016 show in Philadelphia to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut show. Tickets for the 32-song performance, which includes their debut LP Ten played in its entirety, are priced at US$14.99 and available via nugs.tv.
