Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Ronnie Wood perform “Get Back”

The surprise reunion capped off a special night at the O2.

This past weekend, Paul McCartney was joined by former bandmate Ringo Starr and Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood on a spectacular rendition of “Get Back.” The brief but wonderful all-star reunion topped off an incredible Sunday night at London’s O2 Arena.

McCartney, who is currently on his Freshen Up tour behind his latest album, Egypt Station, surprised the audience by inviting both Wood and Starr on stage. The trio then launched into a performance of the 1969 Beatles hit, with McCartney and Wood trading licks and Starr steadying the ship with his signature grooves.

“I don’t know about you, but that was a thrill for me. Peace and love everybody and a Merry Christmas,” Starr wished the audience after the performance.

Macca’s three-hour long set at the O2 was packed with a variety of tunes from his storied career, including solo sections, Wings singles, and unforgettable Beatles classics.
