New York trio Palehound have released “Worthy,” another taste of their forthcoming album Black Friday.

“Being a fat girl in indie rock has lead me to have a very skewed image of my body. ‘Worthy’ is about breaking down the self hatred that this environment has planted in me,” frontwoman Ellen Kempner wrote on Twitter. She opts for a hushed, breathy vocal delivery that mirrors the insecurity and anxiety expressed in the song. The guitarwork slides along, never overpowering the story-driven single.

Black Friday, due out June 7, follows 2017’s A Place I’ll Always Go.
