Necking spend their savings at IKEA on new single, “Spare Me”

Their debut album, ‘Cut Your Teeth,’ arrives in July.

Vancouver-based band Necking have dropped “Spare Me,” the third single from their forthcoming debut album Cut Your Teeth.

The track opens with a spindly guitar riff that weaves itself around a strong bassline, but dives into an aggressive, distorted chorus. Bassist Sonya Rez explained to NYLON that the song is “about being too broke to party, but not too broke to spend hundreds of dollars at IKEA.”

Cut Your Teeth is due out July 5 via Mint Records. Aside from “Spare Me,” the LP will also include the band’s previous singles, “Big Mouth” and “Still Exist.”
