Nadine Shah sets sail in video for “Trad”

The latest ‘Kitchen Sink’ visual.

Nadine Shah has released a grainy black-and-white video for her Kitchen Sink highlight, “Trad.”

In the clip, the English singer-songwriter plays a deranged bride who kidnaps her groom on a boat. She ties him to the deck, where he watches her dance merrily and drink flutes of champagne. “Bake my eggs / Bathe my eggs / Play nice and do as you are told,” she taunts. “Shake my hand / On all my demands / And stay with me when I am old.”

Shah braved the cold to film the video in the seaside town of Ramsgate, England. “Not quite the Danube river cruise I had imagined but a boat trip all the same,” the singer joked in a statement. “All aboard for the first view of my new music video for ‘Trad’ filmed in a wedding dress in the freezing cold on a boat in Ramsgate! Ahoy!”

Shah dropped her fourth studio album Kitchen Sink in June. It acted as the long-awaited follow-up to her 2017 Mercury Prize-nominated record, Holiday Destination.
