Muse perform “The Dark Side” live on ‘Later… with Jools Holland’

    ‘Simulation Theory’ is out November 9 on Warner Bros Records.

    Muse recently performed “The Dark Side,” a single from their forthcoming studio album Simulation Theory, on the longstanding BBC show Later… with Jools Holland.

    The trio are about to embark on another worldwide tour that will take them from Houston to Zurich, but made time to stop by the BBC Studios for a live performance of the single. They also performed “Pressure” and “Dig Down” in the same visit.

    Featuring arpeggiated synths, stadium-sized riffery and operatic electronic drums, “The Dark Side” proves why Matt Bellamy and company are regarded as one of the best live rock bands performing today.

    Leaning on lighter influences including ’80s pop culture and science fiction, Simulation Theory was co-produced by Rich Costey, Mike Elizondo, Shellback and Timbaland, which allowed the band to focus on each song individually without an overarching narrative. Each song will be accompanied by a music video, such as this clip for “Something Human.”
