Mitski drops cathartic live video of “Drunk Walk Home”

The performance was recorded during her four-night stint at Brooklyn Steel last year.

Critically acclaimed rocker Mitski has released a live video for “Drunk Walk Home,” a cut from her 2014 album, Bury Me at Makeout Creek. It was shot at one of her four New York concerts at Brooklyn Steel last year.

The video captures the essence of a Mitski performance: captivating, intense and freeing. She stands center stage, delivering a passionate rendition of the track, throwing her arms about and sometimes convulsing on the ground.

“I asked filmmaker Derrick Belcham to film some of the four Brooklyn Steel dates we did at the end of last year’s US tour, mostly to commemorate the first big Be the Cowboy tour, especially since I knew we wouldn’t repeat the same set again after that round of tours,” Mitski said in a statement. “Now that we’ve started to tour a new set this year, I wanted to put this video out as a goodbye to this old set, and a thank you to everyone who came to the shows last year.”
