METZ drop explosive new song, “Dry Up”

The accompanying video gives a look into the band’s ten-year-long history.

Toronto-based punk outfit METZ have just released “Dry Up,” a cut from Automat, their forthcoming B-sides and rarities compilation LP. The raucous track is accompanied by a music video, which features suitably noise-heavy montage of the band’s tours over the years.

“The video for ‘Dry Up,’ as well as the Automat album, is an attempt to pause, take a breath, look backward and take stock of our past,” frontman Alex Edkins explained in a statement. “It’s intended to express how grateful we are to be able to do what we do. It’s a love letter to the incredible places we’ve traveled, the beautiful people we’ve met, to community, music and friendship.”

Automat is scheduled for release on July 12 via Sub Pop. Watch the “Dry Up” MV below:
