Mac DeMarco debuts new song “Fooled by Love” on ‘Colbert’

Accompanied by house bandleader Jon Batiste.

Marc DeMarco recently debuted the brand-new song “Fooled by Love” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

The Canadian indie rocker delivered the romantic tune on guitar, accompanied by the show’s bandleader Jon Batiste on piano. Making a special appearance was a spinning human-pig prop, which fans may recognize from the bizarre music video for DeMarco’s song “On the Square.”

“Fooled by Love” follows DeMarco’s 2019 album Here Comes the Cowboy, which included the tracks “All of Our Yesterdays,” “Nobody” and “Preoccupied.” Last year, the singer also directed Iggy Pop’s “Sonali” music video.

DeMarco is slated to release Here Comes the Cowboy Demos and Other Here Comes the Cowboy Demos in conjunction with Record Store Day on August 28.
