Local Natives release bouncy new single, “Megaton Mile”

The band cut loose with a fresh, dancy track.

Los Angeles-based indie band Local Natives have unveiled their latest single, “Megaton Mile,” taken from their forthcoming album, Violet Street.

The upbeat number is a throwback to old-school pop, with frontman Taylor Rice’s vocals layered over a syncopated jazz beat, climbing bassline and rhythm section. “Hold me close in the ending / In a flashing light / We’re stuck and it’s after dark / All megaton mile,” Rice sings.

Violet Street is the five-piece outfit’s first full-length since 2016’s Sunlit Youth. They previously released the singles “Café Amarillo” and “When am I Gonna Lose You” last month.
