Local Natives announce new album, ‘Violet Street’

They also released videos for their new singles, “Café Amarillo” and “When Am I Gonna Lose You.”

Indie rock band Local Natives will make their return with their fourth studio album, Violet Street, this April. They also released two singles, “Café Amarillo” and “When Am I Gonna Lose You,” with accompanying videos, to celebrate the occasion.

In the first clip, for “Café Amarillo,” the band travel across the American heartlands, driving through the desert and performing in a neon-lit truck. “Some things are so simple / They’re impossible to explain / The Café Amarillo / Stay dry when you’re caught in the rain / We’re caught in the rain,” they harmonize.

“When Am I Gonna Lose You,” on the other hand, received a cinematic visual starring Kate Mara. Directed by Van Alpert, the artful video follows a lonely Mara as she calmly shops for groceries, does her makeup and listens to music. Her casual demeanor slowly dissipates as the clip progresses, ending with an intense shot of the actress before it cuts to black.

Violet Street, which follows 2016’s Sunlit Youth, is due out April 26. Watch the videos for their new singles below.
