Liam Gallagher has released “Shockwave,” the first single off his upcoming second solo album, Why Me? Why Not.

Featuring a classic rock ’n’ roll sound that is characteristic of Gallagher, “Shockwave” is an exciting teaser of the former Oasis man’s return. “Now I’m back in the city / The lights are up on me / They try to keep me locked away / But hallelujah, I feel free,” he sings over heavy power pop riffs. The track was produced by Greg Kurstin, who worked with Gallagher on his solo debut.

Why Me? Why Not is Gallagher’s follow-up to 2017’s As You Were. The record is due out later this year via Warner Music.
