October has arrived, which means it’s time to get into a spooky mood. Luckily for all you rock ’n’ roll fans, Titus Andronicus are here to help with a season-appropriate EP. ?
Home Alone on Halloween, which dropped yesterday, is only three songs long. But it comes up to 30 minutes of good-ol’ alternative goodness from the New Jersey punk rock band—all recorded during the sessions for their recent album, A Productive Cough.
The epic opener and title track features plenty of creepy horror movie cackles and prominent organ lines. But instead of Patrick Stickles, the gravelly voiced Matt “Money” Miller—who also appears on A Productive Cough—takes over vocal duties. The track’s followed by a Bob Dylan cover, “Only a Hobo,” and the EP wraps up with a 16-minute behemoth, “A Letter Home.”
“In a catalog rich with long tracks, only one Titus Andronicus track can be the longest. This is that track,” the band tweeted.
