Le Butcherettes release new single “father/ELOHIM”

Along with the announcement of their new album.

Mexican garage rockers Le Butcherettes have released a new single, “father/ELOHIM,” from their forthcoming album bi/MENTAL.

Bright and driving, the track is laced with intertwining brass and harsh lead guitar lines, alongside falsetto backing vocals. The accompanying video was shot at a recent show in Los Angeles, directed by Gus Black, who’s worked with Gary Clark Jr and Deftones.

Le Butcherettes’ new album, bi/MENTAL, is due February 1. It follows the band’s 2015 record A Raw Youth and their surprise 2018 release, struggle/STRUGGLE EP.

In a statement, frontwoman Teri Gender Bender said, “Essentially, this record was inspired by the death of a living mother but none of that matters anymore… A disconnection in itself is so ravage so confusing it leaves one feeling incomplete… Is there hope? Is there light?”
