Jenny Lewis releases “Heads Gonna Roll,” featuring Ringo Starr

The track opens her forthcoming LP, ‘On the Line,’ out March 22.

Jenny Lewis has dropped the long-awaited studio version of “Heads Gonna Roll,” with Ringo Starr on drums.

The piano-led slow burn, which also has Don Was on bass and Benmont Tench on organ, features evocative lyrics and captivating vocals from Lewis. “And he took me to a graveyard / I thought he’d kill me there / And he kissed me on the corner / While the nuns of Harlem stared,” she sings.

Lewis has been performing “Heads Gonna Roll” live for a few years now, debuting the song two years ago during her appearance on radio show A Prairie Home Companion. The track opens her upcoming album, On the Line, her first since 2014’s The Voyager.
