The Gorillaz are back with an eye-catching video for their latest single, “Humility.”
The clip follows the fictional band members goofing around at the beach, making music and causing mischief before rock’s funnyman Jack Black himself bursts onto the scene.
And that isn’t the only surprise in the video. Followers of their fictional band narrative will also notice a new animated Gorillaz band member, Ace. He’s the green-skinned boy from The Powerpuff Girls whom the Gorillaz creators, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, borrowed to add to their own line of cartoon band characters.
“Humility,” which also features jazz icon George Benson, is one of two singles that Gorillaz have released in anticipation of their upcoming album, The Now Now. The other track is “Lake Zurich,” a funky instrumental that’s gonna get your feet tapping.
The Now Now also stars Jamie Principle and Snoop Dogg in guest spots, the latter of whom debuted “Hollywood” with Albarn in March. Their album arrives June 29.
