Interpol surprise fans with a “Fine Mess”

The band drop a new song before heading out on tour.

It’s barely been five months since Interpol released Marauder, but the New York rockers are already back with fresh material, namely the song “Fine Mess.”

The band’s new offering features nimble guitar lines and cryptic lyrics about a relationship in decay. “So, deep breath, deep breath, keep grabbing / Well I like, my life is procreation / So I make time to rewind those memories and play / ’Cause you and me make a fine mess,” frontman Paul Banks sings.

“Fine Mess” comes just a day before the band kick off their five-month-long tour across North America and Europe in support of Marauder.
