Yesterday, Royal Trux dropped “White Stuff,” the title track of their new record out in two months’ time.
The dynamic, swaggering track is a sign of characteristically great things to come from Jennifer Herrema and Neil Hagerty, who’ve been playing together as Royal Trux since the late ’80s.
Having reunited for shows in 2015, put out a compilation album in 2017 and released two songs last year, it was only a matter of time before the alternative rock duo announced a new album. The 11-track White Stuff will be their first new studio album since 2000’s Pound for Pound.
“Nothing has changed within the Truxian universe we created for ourselves as teenagers,” Herrema said in a statement. “Because Trux is and will always be our way of life whether living it together or separate… This is no hobby rock kick. We are long game lifers with no fear, no regrets and plenty of gratitude for the way the universe has rewarded our singular dynamic.”
White Stuff will be out March 1 on Fat Possum Records. Hear the title track below:
