Green Day have unveiled their much-anticipated 13th studio album Father of All….
For the new ten-track record, the band bring back the lyricism of their earlier records, such as Dookie and Nimrod, and combine it with the sonic maturity found of their more recent works. They previously previewed the record with the songs “Oh Yeah!” and “Fire Ready Aim.”
The band also noted that the record isn’t another politically driven album, like 2004’s American Idiot, despite fan requests. “The other thing is I’m sure everybody expected us to write some sort of fucking magnum opus about fucking Trump, but it’s just not where we are right now,” bassist Mike Dirnt told Spin. “American Idiot still says everything that needs to be said today. So we’re at a place where we wanted to play with our influences.”
