Greta Van Fleet return with “Age of Machine”

From new album ‘The Battle at Garden’s Gate.’

Greta Van Fleet have announced their second album The Battle at Garden’s Gate with the new single “Age of Machine.”

The classic rock revivalists paint a bleak picture of our wired society with epic riffs and grandiose imagery: “Perfect child / Plugged in since the womb / Prophet of the dune / In this electric tomb.” It’s an apt taste of a new record which member Josh Kiszka described to Rolling Stone as “a world with the ancient civilizations in it, just like our own parallel universe, really.”

He added, “It’s an analogy. Each song is a theme. A magnification of different cultures and civilizations inside of this world searching for some kind of salvation or enlightenment.”


The quartet, whose 2018 debut album Anthem of the Peaceful Army polarised fans and critics with its unabashed nods to Led Zeppelin, will release its follow-up on April 16, 2021. Hear “Age of Machine” below:
