Every week, we compile a list of the best new rock songs out. Here are four that you shouldn’t miss.
“I’ll Kiss You Tonight” by Yeasayer
Yeasayer have dropped a fresh track, “I’ll Kiss You Tonight,” and a psychedelic animated video directed by Theodore Sefcik. It’s taken from their forthcoming album, Erotic Reruns, due out in June.
“Everybody Here Hates You” by Courtney Barnett
Courtney Barnett’s latest single, “Everybody Here Hates You,” takes on social anxiety and paranoia. You can get it on vinyl as an exclusive release for Record Store Day, which will be observed worldwide tomorrow.
“Got You” by Amyl and the Sniffers
Melbourne punk band Amyl and the Sniffers are readying their first-ever album for release next month. It includes the “Got You,” a fast-paced track that’ll resonate with anyone currently in the honeymoon phase of a budding romance.
“Hey Gyp (Dig the Slowness)” by The Raconteurs
The discography of Jack White’s side project The Raconteurs—and several other selections from Third Man Records’ impressive roster—has just been made available on digital music retailer Bandcamp. To mark that launch, the band have premiered a rollicking cover of Donovan’s 1965 song “Hey Gyp (Dig the Slowness)” on the platform. This track arrives ahead of the June release of Help Us Stranger, The Raconteurs’ first album in 11 years.
