Foo Fighters cover Arcade Fire, Dead Kennedys on surprise new EP

The fifth EP of old Foos material out this year.

Last Friday, the Foo Fighters shared a new EP 01070725, which features Arcade Fire and Dead Kennedys covers.

01070725 includes a cover of Dead Kennedys’ “Holiday in Cambodia,” which the Foos performed at the 2007 MTV Music Awards, as well as their take on Arcade Fire’s “Keep the Car Running.” The EP’s opening track “If Ever” originally served as a B-side to the Foos’ iconic single “The Pretender.” Also included are cuts off the band’s 2007 album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, namely “Seda” and a demo version of “Come Alive.”

Foo Fighters’ last album was 2017’s Concrete & Gold. 01070725 is the fifth archival EP the band have put out this year, and follows their recent Live in Roswell EP that marked Storm Area 51 day. The slew of material from the Foos’ vault leads up to the 25th anniversary of their self-titled album in 2020.
