Filthy Friends journey to “Last Chance County”

The song comes from their forthcoming sophomore album, ‘Emerald Valley.’

The supergroup Filthy Friends—led by REM’s Peter Buck and Sleater-Kinney’s Corin Tucker—have announced their sophomore album Emerald Valley, and released a rocking new single, “Last Chance County.”

Filthy Friends, which also counts Scott McCaughey and Kurt Bloch as members, released their debut LP Invitation back in 2017. The new album, Tucker said, began as a “long poem growing in my brain” that “turned into a sort of manifesto about the kind of place we are at as a country but also as a region.”

Emerald Valley is due out on May 3 via Kill Rock Stars. Listen to “Last Chance County” below:
