Father John Misty performs new song at benefit show

All concert proceeds went to victims of the recent wildfires in California.

Father John Misty debuted an unreleased song at a recent benefit concert that took place at LA’s Ace Hotel. The December 18 show was held to raise funds for the victims of wildfires that razed across California last month.

FJM (aka Josh Tillman) took to the stage to deliver a new acoustic number that checked all the boxes: soothing vocals, acoustic guitars, life-affirming lyrics. Although the song was untitled, Tillman repeated the lyric “all God’s country” on the chorus.

That wasn’t all from the “Pure Comedy” crooner, though. Later during the show, he joined forces with Este Haim (of HAIM) and Beck to deliver a stunning rendition of Beck’s 1996 single, “Where it’s At.”
