Efterklang announce first studio album in seven years

The first single is “Vi er Uendelig,” which means “we are infinite.”

Danish trio Efterklang—consisting of Casper Clausen, Mads Brauer and Rasmus Stolberg—have returned from their seven-year hiatus with “Vi er Uendelig,” the lead single from their forthcoming LP, Altid Sammen.

“Vi er Uendelig,” which means “we are infinite,” is an exquisite ballad that’s built around a descending melody in the chorus, alongside a rich piano progression and a flowing wind section. The band explore the complicated emotions that come with a relationship, including the unfortunate reality that some relationships thrive on fighting to feel alive.

The accompanying black-and-white video, directed by Andreas Koefoed, focuses on Clausen and his co-star Helena Christensen, as the camera pans and zooms dramatically. The music video is an homage to the late Johnny Hallyday’s 1964 televised performance of “Le Penitentier,” the band revealed on Twitter.
