The slowcore veterans are back with a new song—and a weird video.

Earlier this year, influential slowcore band Duster emerged from dormancy to release Capsule Losing Contact, a career-spanning box-set. Now, the group have dropped a new song, “Interstellar Tunnel.”

The instrumental track drives steadily forward with chiming riffs and a steady drumbeat, before ending with a loose, spacey coda. It arrived with a strange video starring musicians performing the song in a studio while wearing animal masks.

“Interstellar Tunnel” is the San Jose band’s first new music in 20 years, following their 2000 album Contemporary Movement. Last April, Duster announced their return to the studio with an Instagram post with a simple caption: “Hi. It’s been a long time but we are recording a little bit.”
