Cloud Nothings release “Nothing Without You”

From the album ‘The Shadow I Remember,’ out later this month.

Cloud Nothings have shared “Nothing Without You,” the third track to be lifted from their upcoming album The Shadow I Remember.

Following previous cuts “Am I Something” and “The Spirit of,” “Nothing Without You” is another slice of the Cleveland band’s raucous indie rock. Built on raw guitars, rolling toms and a subtle keyboard line, “Nothing Without You” is the loudest track from The Shadow I Remember to date.

To coincide with the release, Cloud Nothings also teamed up with designer Jesse Jacobs to share a virtual pet video game, based on the themes explored on the new single. “‘Nothing Without You’ explores both the negative and positive aspects of dependency, whether it be on a person, a place, an object, or nothing at all,” frontman Dylan Baldi said in a statement. “Jesse Jacobs and Vagabond Dog took that concept and filtered it through the ultimate needy creature, the Tamagotchi.” The game is available to play on their website here.

Last July, Cloud Nothings surprise-released their sixth studio album The Black Hole Understands, which they recorded in isolation. The Shadow I Remember will be their first album since, and is due on February 26 via Carpark Records.
